The PJ Library®, an award-winning program of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation is seeking a dynamic individual for the position of Director of Fundraising & Major Gifts for the New York City metropolitan area.

This position will require networking in an effort to build relationships and the case for The PJ Library®. Responsibilities include: 

  • identification, cultivation, solicitation, closure and stewardship of prospects and donors in support of the program
  • establish and deepen relationships with potential and current donors
  • work with staff to support fundraising initiatives in New York City
  • work in concert with founders, trustees and staff to conduct major donor solicitations

The ideal candidate comes with development experience, is engaged in the Jewish community and will be fully committed to the mission of The PJ Library®.

Other qualifications include: strong experience in managing his/her own portfolio of major gifts; a proven track record of successful major donor solicitation or sales equivalent; substantial experience in managing relationships with high net-worth individuals; the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet challenging deadlines; highly skilled in oral and written communications; self-directed, self-motivated and highly productive.

The PJ Library® program supports families in their Jewish journey by sending Jewish-content books and music on a monthly bases to children from age six months to eight years. The PJ Library® is funded in partnership with local philanthropists and Jewish organizations. Currently more than 58,000 children across North America receive PJ Library® materials every month; the program is expected to continue growing rapidly especially in the greater New York City metropolitan area.
