67 Area College Students to be Recognized for Entrepreneurial Spirit at Banquet Featuring Keynote Speaker - Delcie Bean, IV, CEO of Paragus Strategic I.T.

Delcie Bean, Founder and CEO of Paragus Strategic I.T. and Tech Foundry will share his story of entrepreneurial success at the 11th Annual Grinspoon Entrepreneurship Awards Ceremony and Banquet on Wednesday, 4/30 (5:00-9:00 p.m.) at the Log Cabin in Holyoke.  As this year's keynote speaker, Mr. Bean will talk on the theme of "Define Your Success".  He will talk about his successes and failures and his commitment to creating a Springfield Innovation Hub.  The keynote speech will begin at approximately 7:50 p.m.

The event will also feature the exhibits of 67 students from 14 of our area colleges - all of whom have started a business or have a well-defined business concept.  This is the largest number of students who have been recognized at this annual event.   The exhibition will take place between 5:00p.m - 6:15p.m.

Additionally, one of the highlights of this event is the "Live Elevator Pitch" contest which is sponsored by six local community banks.  There will be 15 student pitches (early stage business concepts) which will be judged by representatives from each bank. The bank sponsors are: Berkshire Bank, Country Bank for Savings, First Niagara Bank, PeoplesBank, United Bank and Westfield Bank.  First prize is $1000.00.  The elevator pitches will begin at approximately 6:45 p.m.
