Incentive Grants : Israel Travel and Study  
Guidelines - Israel Trips

Available for residents of Western Massachusetts only.

Travel and Study Grants are administered on a reimbursement basis.

  1. Grantees are required to submit an application and attach a copy of the itinerary including the detailed costs of the trip.
  2. Applications must arrive in the HGF office prior to departure for initial approval.  The grantee will receive written confirmation of the initial approval. 
  3. HGF policy is to reimburse funding upon the grantee's return.  To receive funding, the grantee must submit a letter within four weeks of his or her return detailing what he or she will do to benefit the community.

* Each grantee is eligible to apply for one trip to Israel every other year.  The Harold Grinspoon Foundation only funds organized travel and study programs to Israel. 

*The Foundation supports vacations and visits to Israel, but will not provide funding for that type of travel.

Teen trips to Israel --> Teens who are residents of Western Massachusetts are eligible to apply for 50% of the cost of the trip, up to $3,000, to travel to Israel with: a youth group,  a Jewish overnight camp, or an approved organized group trip.   Applicants must be between the ages of 12 and 18 to be eligible for funding.  Teens are eligible to apply for funding from the HGF for one trip every other year.

College student study in Israel --> College students who are residents of Western Massachusetts are eligible to apply for 50% of the cost of the tuition up to $2,500 for a year study in Israel, or 50% of the cost of the tuition up to $1,500 for a semester study in Israel.                                                                                     College students are eligible to apply for 50% of the cost of the program up to $900 for participation in an accredited program in Israel during the summer or a semester break.  College students may apply for funding from the HGF for one trip every other year.

Adults travel to Israel -->  Adults who are residents of Western Massachusetts are eligible to apply for 50% of the cost of the trip up to $1,000 for a short travel/study in Israel (minimum of one week).  Adults who are residents of Western Massachusetts are eligible to apply for 50% of the cost of the trip up to $2,500 for a long travel or study in Israel (for at least four months).  Adults may apply for funding from the HGF for one trip every other year.

Family travel to Israel --> Family members are eligible to apply for 50% of the cost of a trip (up to $1,000 per traveling family member) through an approved Jewish program, organization, or synagogue.  Families may apply for funding from the HGF for one trip every other year.
