About the Opportunity
The Analytics Manager will work closely with other members of the Analytics team to provide analytical
expertise fundamental to supporting initiatives across the foundation. The ideal candidate will be able to
collect, analyze and present complex information in a clear and accessible way using Tableau data
visualization software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
Responsibilities
Foundation-wide
- Support Tableau implementation efforts and use across HGF
- Responsible for launching the 1st cohort of the Tableau Champions program
- Entails coordinating training of community members on the Tableau platform
- Ensuring that community members can become self-sufficient with Tableau
- Manage the continued development and upkeep of the Tableau Center of Excellence
- Launch a regular cadence of training, education and networking opportunities meant to help grow and strengthen the entire community of Tableau users
- Assisting in user support
- Contributing to processes that support data governance
- Collaborate with internal sponsors and IT Data Team to build and maintain high-level reporting dashboards that help to clearly communicate key information for initiatives across HGF and HGCF.
- Projects would vary between providing relatively small-scale, one-time reporting to developing comprehensive dashboards that will require ongoing maintenance and support.
- Key duties include gathering and refining business requirements in partnership with sponsor
- Represent business user's needs and requirements with the Data Services Team
- Project manage the Data Certification and Data Validation phases with IT
- Ensure all report validation steps are completed in partnership with the business sponsor
PJ Library-specific
- Work closely with the Senior Analytics Manager, Publishing Relations Manager and Operations Manager to manage all order forecasting and inventory reporting for the PJ Library programs in multiple countries.
- Work in close coordination with the Publishing Relations Manager and Operations Manager to obtain final costs, quantities, and other relevant information to the administration of PJ Library.
- Maintain all cost accounting reporting, largely focused on book purchasing and distribution costs, for PJ Library programs in English, Spanish, German, Russian and Ukrainian.
- Prepare all cost analysis for book and non-book items available for sale in e-Commerce platforms.
- Support the PJ Library Management team with adhoc analysis to identify new resources and programming, and to drive subscription growth.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business (Finance, Accounting, or Statistics emphasis preferred).
- Proficient with Tableau Data Visualization software
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- A minimum of 3 years of professional experience focused on business analytics
- Exceptional interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate cost effectiveness and outcomes of various programs.
- Strong business and financial acumen
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to prepare and present reports to department heads and board members
- Self-motivated and directed
- Ability to work quickly and accurately
- Experience working with international projects, specifically reporting across multiple currencies, a plus
- Experience with SQL, a plus
- A hybrid work schedule if within commuting distance. Remote schedule if in non-commuting distance.
