Communications Manager

The Harold Grinspoon Foundation (HGF) located in Agawam, MA, is looking for a Communications Manager. This is a newly created position to fill a growing need to communicate the foundation’s initiatives in the Jewish communal and philanthropic space to media, partners, and donors.



This role will help create and coordinate external communications with PR vendors and internal stakeholders for a cohesive communications strategy. In addition to creating content, the Communications Manager will be responsible for growing HGF social channels and platforms with the goals of raising the profile of the foundation, its programs, and its leadership as thought leaders in the Jewish philanthropic space. This is a fulltime position, reporting to the Director of Marketing.
 
 

Responsibilities

  • Help build a business facing comms/content strategy for HGF and its programs
  • Create and maintain a media calendar
  • Liaise with PR vendors to craft press releases and op-eds
  • Manage projects with freelance writers
  • Create/edit blog posts and articles for publication on our channels and outside channels
  • Create/edit case studies, white papers, sponsored content for marketing our programs and use as thought leadership pieces
  • Work with the Conference team on email communications
  • Help maintain a media kit, internal/external talking points to keep HGF facts and figures up to date
  • Prepare media reports to help track campaigns
  • Help keep HGF website content up to date
  • Build up business facing social channels for HGF on LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter
  • Help elevate HGF and select staff as thought leaders through these channels
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with Foundation leadership and program directors
  • Coordinate with the Director of Donor Relations to ensure Foundation-wide communications strategy aligns with donor stewardship and communications calendar
 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in communications, journalism, PR or related field
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong copy-editing skills
  • Proven experience in building social media marketing and creating targeted content
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and external PR firms
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices
  • Experience working in a CMS is a plus
  • Knowledge of Jewish communal and philanthropic landscape preferred
