Founded in 1991 by real estate guru and successful businessman, Harold Grinspoon, the Harold Grinspoon Foundation (HGF) is the most entrepreneurial and business oriented non-profit in the state. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Director of Talent and Engagement is responsible for leading the foundation's recruiting and onboarding, employee engagement and satisfaction projects, benefits support, and other daily operations and activities of the foundation's HR department. This role requires a versatile individual who has experience leading and performing a wide variety of HR functions. This position is based in the home office in Agawam, MA.
Responsibilities

Assist HR Director and relevant staff with the daily operations and activities of the HR department, including but not limited to, onboarding and offboarding employees, benefits and leave administration, DEI initiatives, trainings, and employee relations.

Collaborate with HR Director and senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.

Managing HGF recruiting activities

Draft and update job descriptions, post job openings on various sites, manage candidate applications

Create and maintain a network of candidates and acquisition sources

Conduct background checks, and reference checks when needed

Draft and send offer letters and materials

Work with hiring manager to coordinate orientation schedules and onboarding for new hires

Managing offboarding process
-
Prepare and manage the employee offboarding process and related paperwork and notices (401(k), COBRA, unemployment insurance, FSA, etc.)

Conduct exit interviews
-
Manage benefits and open enrollment in coordination with the Payroll & Benefits Administrator.

Prepare and manage employee leave paperwork (FMLA, Disability, State Family & Medical Leave, etc.)

Oversee professional development and training programs.

Provide support and respond to questions from employees on various topics, including HR policies and procedures.

Assist with researching various HR projects and employment trends and practices including salary comps, salary bands, health & safety protocols, remote work/hybrid trends, etc.

Ensure all activities comply with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.

Assist with planning and execution of HR events and activities—employee recognition events, holiday parties, and foundation celebrations—by collaborating with the Agawam Office Manager, HR Director, and Chief of Staff.

Assist with performance management monitoring.

Perform related duties as required.
Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.

Minimum of 5-7 years of human resources management experience, including recruiting, talent management, and employee engagement.

SHRM or HRCI certification preferred.

Thorough understanding of recruiting methods and best practices, as well as applicable policies and federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

Excellent communication skills, high level of emotional intelligence, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness.

Proficiency in MS Office, HRIS systems, and comfortable learning new technical systems as needed.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

A high level of integrity, honesty, and a strong work ethic.
