Stewardship Coordinator

Position Goal

The Stewardship Coordinator supports the Director of Donor Relations and the Advancement Communications team in all aspects of PJ Library’s donor stewardship program.
Reports to: Director of Donor Relations

Major Areas of Responsibility

  • Work closely with the Director of Donor Relations to maintain a vibrant stewardship plan in support of donor acknowledgement and retention.
  • Assist in the creation and execution of audience-specific stewardship plans, including national, community, endowment, international, and New York donors.
  • Execute stewardship projects (i.e. holiday cards), coordinating across departments as needed to circulate lists and ensure materials are sent in a timely manner.
  • Provide support for online and in person donor events, as assigned by the Director of Donor Relations, including ensuring excellent pre- and post-event donor communication.
  • Assist with acknowledgement processes, ensuring that all donors are thanked promptly and appropriately.
  • Assist in the creation of internal and external emails, and materials for donor and partner meetings.
  • Maintain the Donor Relations calendar, ensuring that it is up to date with all advancement projects and that fundraisers have access to information they need.
  • Other general duties and project-specific support as well as project management as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-3 years of professional experience; prior experience with Stewardship/Donor Relations preferred
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of programs
  • Experience with project management and design software preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to tackle multiple tasks in a timely and effective manner
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk, concentrating, and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.


This position is based out of the home office in Agawam, Massachusetts.
