The 2021 Live Elevator Pitch Competition for the best “Collegiate Pitch in the Valley” is sponsored by these community banks:
Pitch Contest:
Students with a unique business or product idea pitch the idea in 90 seconds in front of a live, virtual audience for prize money!
All contestants submit a 90-Second video of a unique business idea. Video submissions are reviewed by a panel of bank judges who determine the finalists. Finalists pitch live during the Virtual Celebration of Entrepreneurial Spirit on April 28
th from 5:30-6:30 p.m. The Pitch Judges and sponsors are community bankers who are accustomed to making decisions regarding new business ventures.
Selection of Contestants:
Each of the 14 participating college and universities selects one student to compete (2 from UMass)
Pitch Contest Rules:
- The Pitches are unique business ideas which must be doable and marketable
- Each contestant has 90 seconds to present their business idea
- Participants can use a 3x5 note card but are not allowed to use technology or props
Judging Criteria:
Judges will choose the winners - 40% on presentation and 60% on feasibility and creativity of the idea.
Prizes:
- All contestants will receive $100
- Eight finalists will deliver their pitches live on April 28th for an additional $250
- A prize will be awarded for the audience favorite
- The 2021 Pitch Contest Winner will be determined by bank judges and will win an additional $500
