Entrepreneurship Elevator Pitch Contest

The mission of the Entrepreneurship Initiative is to encourage entrepreneurial activity in the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts by fostering an educational environment among participating colleges and universities that informs, supports, and inspires students, and by recognizing and awarding students who display entrepreneurial spirit.

The 2022 Live Elevator Pitch Competition for the best “Collegiate Pitch in the Valley” is sponsored by these community banks:

Pitch Contest:
The Live Elevator Pitch Contest will take place during the Celebration of Entrepreneurship event at the Log Cabin in Holyoke on February 27th, 5:00-7:30 p.m.
All contestants will deliver a 90-second pitch of a unique business idea in front of a live audience for prize money! The Pitch Judges and sponsors are community bankers who are accustomed to making decisions regarding new business ventures.
Selection of Contestants:
Each of the 14 participating college and universities selects one student to compete (2 from UMass)
Pitch Contest Rules:
  • The Pitches are unique business ideas which must be doable and marketable
  • Each contestant has 90 seconds to present their business idea
  • Participants can use a 3x5 note card but are not allowed to use technology or props
Judging Criteria:
Judges will choose the winners - 50% on pitch delivery and 50% on feasibility and creativity of the idea.
  • All contestants will receive $100 
  • The judges will select three $750 winners based on the criteria above
