Assistant Print Production Manager



Position Overview

HGF is seeking an Assistant Print Production Manager to join our growing team supporting multiple foundation initiatives, including the flagship program, PJ Library®. This full-time position will oversee a variety of projects from pre-production planning to final product delivery. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. It will report to the Senior Manager of Print Production & Distribution. This is a full-time position that requires in-office work in Agawam 60% of the time.

Responsibilities:

Print Production and Sourcing Responsibilities

Manage all phases of the production and distribution of collateral and promotional print projects for all teams across the foundation.

  • Develop project timelines and monitor progress to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Manage relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiating costs and ensuring quality of materials
  • Oversee pre-production planning, including file preparation, pre-press, and proofing
  • Coordinate production schedules, including print runs, finishing, and delivery
  • Ensure accuracy of final product, including color, text, and graphics
  • Monitor product quality and provide feedback to production team
  • Maintain accurate production records and reports

eCommerce Responsibilities

  • Create and track ISBNs and accompanying barcodes for PJ Publishing books that are sold on Amazon (or E-Commerce); review book proofs to ensure correct ISBN and Barcodes are used.
  • Create listings for assigned PJ Publishing books on Amazon
  • Prepare and ship inventory to Amazon
  • Monitor sales and inventory levels in the USA and Canada and replenish as needed
  • Track and ensure Royalty Statements are sent to PJ Publishing authors and illustrators
  • Provide monthly statements to Finance for US and Canada

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least two years’ full-time relevant work experience
  • General knowledge of the Printing Process:
    • Offset and Digital
    • Understanding of paper types and ink specifications
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated project management experience
  • Ability to move forward multiple time-sensitive projects all happening simultaneously
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk, concentrating, and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.

Location

This position is based out of the home office in Agawam, Massachusetts.

Salary

$65,000 to $75,000 annually
