Harold Grinspoon Deepens Commitment to Jewish Children’s Book Authors with the Grinspoon Jewish Story Awards

It’s a remarkable feat to write a book, especially one that speaks to the values and vibrancy of the Jewish community. Since 2020, The Harold Grinspoon Foundation has recognized the significant achievements of new authors selected for the PJ Library and PJ Our Way line-ups, and now, the Author Incentive Award will be known as the Grinspoon Jewish Story Awards.

This new name more accurately reflects the prestige of these awards and recognizes the significant achievements of selected authors. In addition, the award amount for all Grinspoon Jewish Story Awards will now be $5,000, whereas previously, manuscripts for the younger program were eligible for $2,000.

This significant increase reflects PJ Library’s continued commitment to sharing high-quality Jewish children’s books with families and youngsters around the world while sustaining the critical work of Jewish children’s authors and author-illustrators.

This increase is thanks to Harold Grinspoon’s continued dedication to and extraordinary investment in PJ Library’s mission and for helping ensure that more than 240,000 Jewish children in North America have access to the very best books that convey Jewish values, traditions, and themes.
