Montreal's awardee for the 2016-2017 school year is Jennifer Benoualid, from Ecole Maimonide.

image of Jennifer BenoualidJennifer Benoualid has worked in Jewish day schools as an educator since 2003, in both elementary and high school. Although she teaches secular studies, she has always believed in integrating Jewish content in her curriculum.

After completing a Certificate in Jewish Theology from Université Laval, Jennifer pursued an undergraduate degree -- B.Ed. in High School Education with a major in History at McGill University. She is now working full time as a History teacher at Ecole Maimonide, part time as a Teaching Assistant at McGill, and completing her Masters degree in Educational Psychology at McGill University. Her research interests are self-handicapping and defensive pessimism in high school students.

Jennifer Benoualid lives in Cote St Luc, Quebec, with her husband and four children.
